TRANSPORTATION

WEIGHT

TAME CARGO accept packages with a maximum individual weight of 100 kg goods that can be divided.

In the case of cargo that can not be divided, as machinery, engines and others, TAME can carry a maximum weight of 250 kg, as long as the dimensions do not exceed the resistance limit of the holds’ floor and the shipment are anchored to a weight distributing platform. To transport such shipment a prior coordination and the approval of the Head of TAME Cargo’s office are required.

DIMENSIONS  

Considering that TAME operates on its routes with different types of aircraft and these have in turn different capacities and dimensions, it is necessary to check whether the size of the shipment can be transported to certain destination according to the team flight operating there. For purposes of general information you will find here below a table showing the dimensions of the hold doors in TAME fleet.

PACKAGING

The protective packaging can be constructed with materials as diverse as wood, cardboard, metal, paper, stuff, etc. It must be resistant to handling transport, stacking and stowage.

TRADEMARKS

For better recognition and speed in the transport, TAME requires your shipment is clearly marked with name, address, sender and recipient phone contacts, and name of the cities of origin and destination.

Terms

• Due to factors of weight limitations registered in aircraft take-off at certain airports in the country, cargo transport is under variable regulations.
• To transport your cargo on domestic flights, TAME requires it at least an hour and a half prior to our published departure itinerary.
• Because our flights are combined (passenger and cargo) you have several options to send or receive packages on the same day.
• TAME won’t be responsible for the transportation of money, jewelry, documents or valuables, and for content misrepresentation and confiscation by Ecuadorian authorities.
• The limit of TAME’s civil responsibility on the cargo transport is up to USD 20,00 per kilogram, as indicated by international treaties. The sender must pay insurance premium in the air waybill equivalent to 0.5% of the value to recognize as compensation (USD 0,10 x kg).
• Cargo of easy decomposition, fragile items, press, animals and birds are carried at the risk of the sender. TAME won’t be responsible for damages or eventual death of animals during the flight.
• Any claim by the sender or recipient because of damage, destruction or partial or total loss of goods delivered for transportation must be submitted in writing to TAME within 14 days following the discovery and report to person or entity entitled to claim. Not being this the case, TAME won’t attend any claim out of time.
• TAME does not transport explosive substances: gases; flammable liquids or solids; oxidizing substances and organic peroxides; toxic and infectious substances; radioactive or corrosive materials; and other goods comprising one or more of the above. Except where such comply with standards of documentation, quantities, packaging, trademarks, labels and other requirements set out on Annex 18 ICAO and its Technical Instructions Document 9284 or on IATA valid regulations.
